Tal Dvir is a Professor at Tel Aviv University, Israel, focusing on biotechnology and regenerative medicine. He earned his B.Sc. (2003) and Ph.D. (2008) from the Faculty of Engineering at the Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, where he conducted his Ph.D. research on cardiac tissue engineering and regeneration under the guidance of Prof. Smadar Cohen. He continued his academic journey as a postdoctoral researcher in the lab of Prof. Robert Langer at MIT, working on advanced materials for tissue engineering and regeneration. In 2011, he joined Tel Aviv University’s Department of Biotechnology and the Center for Nanotechnology, where he established the Laboratory for Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine.
He is also affiliated with the Department of Biomedical Engineering and the Sagol Center for Neuroscience. Tal is involved in several initiatives outside of academia, holding multiple patents and contributing to the founding of several companies. Currently, he serves as the Director of the Tel Aviv University Center for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology and the Founding Director of the Sagol Center for Regenerative Biotechnology.
