Gabriele Maria Fortunato is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Information Engineering and fellow of the Research Center “E. Piaggio” at the University of Pisa (Italy). He received his PhD in Information Engineering at the University of Pisa in 2022, working on the development of a robotic biofabrication platform for in situ bioprinting applications. His research activity is mainly focused on the investigation of different applications of additive manufacturing technologies, through the development of innovative hardware and path planning software for bioprinting applications onto non-planar surfaces. Currently, he is also actively involved in the design of 3D in vitro models for studying the pathophysiology of human organs and tissues.
