Dr. Aysu Arslan is the co-founder and Chief Scientific Officer (CSO) of BIO INX, a spin-off company from Ghent University and Vrije Universiteit Brussel specializing in materials and bio-inks for 3D bioprinting. She earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Chemical Engineering from Hacettepe University, followed by a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Ghent University in 2020 where she graduated with highest honours. Aysu published many high impact publications during her PhD and is inventor of multiple patents.
Her academic research is at the foundation of the company BIO INX. With over a decade of experience in polymer processing and materials science across both academic and industrial settings, Aysu spearheaded the development of the products available in the BIO INX portfolio and is responsible for all scientific developments withing the company.
