Dr Daly is an Associate Professor in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Galway. His research focuses on advancing organ bioprinting technology, focusing on cardiac applications.
He was awarded a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Trinity College Dublin in 2018, followed by postdoctoral training at the University of Pennsylvania.
He started his research group at the University of Galway and CÚRAM in 2021, where he was awarded a European Research Council Starting Grant to develop bioprinted models of heart tissue morphogenesis. His work has been highly cited and published in the top journals in the field.
